MORE ABOUT TAI CHI

Tai Chi is both a skill and an art. It takes time and dedicated practice to master.

Qi (pron. CHEE) -  an energy force thought to flow through the body; Tai Chi is said to unblock and encourage the proper flow of qi.

Yin and Yang- opposing elements believed to make up our universe that need to be kept in harmony, Tai Chi is said to promote such balance.

Slow, mindful movements. No weights. Low intensity.

Tai Chi is a richly researched exercise with vast benefits. Health benefits range from better blood pressure scores to a sharper mind, improved immunity and lower rates of insomnia, depression, illness and inflammation. Conventional medical science on the Chinese art of Tai Chi now shows what Tai Chi masters have known for centuries: regular practice leads to more vigor and flexibility, better balance and mobility, and a sense of well-being. Cutting-edge research from Harvard Medical School also supports the long-standing claims that Tai Chi also has a beneficial impact on the health of the heart, lungs, bones, nerves and muscles, immune system, and the mind.
